Pine Top 508-R1003 Lighthouse Solar Pathway Light, Red and White Welcome to Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School,
home of the lighthouses, where we let our lights shine as we
"light the way to the future"! We are expected
to BEAM at all times!  That is, we will:

DayGlow Dance
The Fitzgerald SCA and PTSO are sponsoring the last dance of the year.  Come and sport your NEON best on May 31st.  More details to come.

New Books Arrive!
Our library has just received new books-1,087 books, DVD's and magazine subscriptions to be exact! The new materials will be ready for check out during the next school year. 
Take Out Tuesdays at Harris Pavilion
There's a new series starting at the Harris Pavilion in Manassas this summer, "Take Out Tuesdays".  It'll be free family entertainment from 6-8 pm each week starting June 4.  You can check out the entire calendar at www.harrispavilion.com.

Kindergarten Field Day & Celebration-June 12
Our Kindergarteners will end their year in style!  The morning of June 12 will be filled with fun outdoor activities during their own exclusive Field Day. Later that afternoon, teachers will hand out individual certificates to each child in their own classrooms.  Please see you child's folder for specific times.
Field Day Fun!
Field Day for grades 1-5 is Thursday June 13.  Come ready for games, contests and fun! Wear appropriate shoewear and clothing.  Bring a labeled water bottle. Sunscreen and hats are encouraged.(Note:  Kindergarten Field Day is June 12.)

Character Traits
The recognized character traits for each month are as follows: April-Cooperation, May-Perseverance, June-Citizenship.

SOL Preparation
Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 are preparing to take a series of assessments based on the curriculum that they've been learning all year and the foundational knowledge developed in previous grades.  There are some steps that can be taken to maximize their testing success. (Read more)
