When parents of children who speak or understand a language other than American English register their child, they will be asked to call one of two Central Registration sites, Stonewall Middle, 571.402.3800, or Ann Ludwig, 703.491.8432, to make an appointment for an English language evaluation.

After April 30, instead of registering at their local school, English language learners will be registered and evaluated at Central Registration. Parents will need to call the Stonewall Middle or Ann Ludwig sites for an appointment.

Kiss And Ride Guidelines
KISS AND RIDE
GUIDELINES FOR SAFETY

Most elementary schools in Prince William County have established an area called the Kiss and Ride, which is designed as a safe place for adults in private vehicles to load and unload children. (Fitzgerald will use the area for unloading at the beginning of the school day and loading at the end of the school day.) The Kiss and Ride is separate from the school bus area, which helps schools to avoid problems associated with cars passing buses, or cars parking in bus only zones and fire lanes. It also establishes a pedestrian traffic pattern to keep children safe.

If all drivers cooperate, the adult supervisors, with the assistance of the safety patrols, will be able to provide an efficient and safe transfer of children. To ensure safety for everyone, observe the following rules when loading and unloading children.

-Pull forward as far as possible into the designated Kiss and Ride lane before loading.
-Load in the Kiss and Ride area only.
-Load from the passenger side of the car only.
-Remain in the driver’s seat. (Safety patrols can assist with the car door.)
-Do not pass other cars that are loading or unloading.
-Do not park in the Kiss and Ride lane and leave car unattended.
-Do not park in the parking lot and call to children.
-Exit the Kiss and Ride promptly after loading children.

BoxTops for Education
The BoxTops for Education Program is one of our continuing fundraising activities.  Participation is easy.  Simply cut out the BoxTops label found on many of the food products you purchase and send them in with your child.  They will be redeemed for learning materials that teachers will use to help our children succeed!
